Meaning Etymology. No one knows for sure the origin of the word "Gunung Kawi". However, based on the reviews etymology, Gunung Kawi is derived from two words combined the "Mountain" and "Kawi". Gunung Kawi is a relic of the 11th century, where in the temple complex are a family funeral king, queen and their descendants who ruled in Bali. King Udayana is the most famous in Bali and is from Warmadewa Dynasty. He is married with a daughter of the king of the Kingdom of Kediri named Gunapriya Dharma Patni, who later had two children, namely grants and Children Wungsu.

After King Udayana abdicated, Wungsu Children also appear to succeed his father that occurred between the years 1049-1077. After he died, his ashes are then stored in one of the temples around the temple complex Gunung Kawi. So it's no wonder that the temple is very preserved for storing the value of history and art untold costs.
